ARMENIA / NAGORNO KARABAKH – 7 DAY - 595€ / 675$

Armenia, one of the most ancient and captivating countries in the world.  A nation with over 6,000 year old history, it was the first country to adopt Christianity in 300AD.  If you are an avid traveler with a passion for unique cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitable people you’ll want to consider Armenia for your next travel.

Our Armenia tour can be done as a stand alone tour or as an extension of Iran tour.  The Iran group arrives to Agarak, Armenia on a Iran / Armenia border a day before tour starts,  stays overnight in the city of Agarak and departs early morning to Goris where it will be joined by non Iran group arriving from Yerevan.

DAY 1 - Agarak

IRAN GROUP

  • Cross Iran / Armenia border

  • Arrive in town of Agarak, check into Marishok Hotel

  • Diner at a local restaurant

  • Free time or night out to sample variety of Armenian beers without fear of persecution from authorities

DAY 2 - Goris

NON IRAN GROUP

  • Depart Yerevan and travel to Goris, to meet IRAN group members in Mirha Hotel

IRAN GROUP

  • Morning departure to Goris via scenic route crossing Meghri mountain pass

  • Lunch at a Armenian Borat house for home brewed coffee and roast chicken

  • Arrive at Mirha Hotel

  • Meet and greet other group

  • Diner in an all Soviet collectors house for traditional Armenian dishes and wine

DAY 3 - Tatev / Stepanokert

  • Breakfast in hotel. Depart to Tatev Monastery

  • Scenic drive to one of the oldest monasteries in Armenia. Longest Cable car in the world 5,700m to Tatev monastery

  • Drive back to Goris and visit the "old village" cave city on the outskirts of Goris, Capadocia of Goris

  • Lunch in all soviet collectors house for traditional Armenian dishes and wine

  • Depart to Nagorno Karabakh

  • Arrive in Stepanokert and check into Jazz hotel

  • Visa registration at the ministry

  • Walking tour of Stepanokert - main square, parliament, stadium, amusement park

  • Overnight in Jazz hotel

DAY 4 - Agdam / Gandzasar

  • Breakfast and departure to city of Agdam stops at Kojaly airport, a brand new but never used Airport, and 400 year old fortress wall

  • Visit a closed city of Agdam, city that has been completely destroyed during the Karabakh war. Note: The situation will be judged when we arrive as sometimes the area is completely sealed off due to live firing exercises and or military instability. People will have to strictly follow instructions here

  • Quick snack on the way to village of Vank and Gandzasar

  • Scenic drive among the mountains to beautiful Gandzasar monastery founded in 6th century that survived multiple bombing attempts during the latest war

  • Visit a bizarre village of Vank, lunch or snack at hotel Titanic, Sea Stone hotel built by a eccentric billionaire

  • Return to Stapanokert and have diner at a traditional Karabakhi restaurant Ureni

  • Night out in the only club / karaoke in town

  • Pub crawl

DAY 5 - Khor Virap

  • Morning departure to Yerevan

  • Stop at Armenian Stone Hedge, twice as old as British one

  • Roadside lunch

  • Visit Khor Virap, an ancient monastery overlooking breath taking mount Ararat

  • Visit museum dedicated to life of assassinated Armenian prime minister

  • Arrive in Yerevan and check into Envoy hostel

  • Diner

  • Free time

DAY6 - Gerhard

  • Visit Gerhard monastery, one of the oldest churches in Armenia, carved entirely out of the mountain

  • Garni, a 2,000-year-old pagan temple overlooking the gorge. Interesting columnar basalt geology around

  • Drive back to Yerevan, lunch at one of the outdoor restaurants in the hills of Yerevan

  • Museum and monument of Armenian genocide

  • Ararat cognac factory

  • Diner at a famous traditional Armenian restaurant downtown Yerevan

  • Free time or pub crawl

  • Overnight at Envoy

DAY 7 - Yerevan

  • Walking tour of Yerevan: visit the cascades, waterfall art installation with fantastic view of Yerevan

  • Opera and ballet theater, Republic Square

  • Soviet memorabilia bazaar

  • Departure to Tbilisi on an overnight train
